Matthew's artwork is an exploration of nature, storytelling, craft and design.  Expressing a range of themes with drawing, printmaking and painting.

After studying Art and Design at TAFE Geelong (1993), Matthew lived in country Victoria where he was involved with Community theater, music and art making.

He also worked on set and costume design for dance theater and music - Wolfgang theater company and Chandrabhanu dance company - Academy of Indian arts (assistant to Geoffrey Goldie. Melbourne. 2019-2000).

After 3 years living in the UK he returned to Australia (2004) to further develop his art  portfolio. Currently located in the Northern Rivers of NSW.

His art practice is forever expanding and flourishing as he explores new subjects and mediums.

Matthew has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions, local and internationally, and he has garnered a string of awards along the way.

This year sees the release of a body of print designs for silkscreen and lino-cut along side of still life paintings. His postponed 2020 solo exhibition 'Close to home'  a collection of land and sea paintings and will be held on Feb 12th 2021 at Gallery 3, Byron Bay.
