Matt Sansom's artwork is expressed with images of nature, storytelling and design.  

Encompassing landscapes, botanical and figurative.  His application of aesthetic leanings are derived from traditional and cultural influences. With his exploration

of landscape, heritage and the imagination he brings a unique approach to art making.

After studying Art and Design at TAFE Geelong (1993), Matt lived in country Victoria where he was involved with Community theatre, music and Visual art.

He also worked in Melbourne on set and costume design for dance, theatre and music. After some years living in UK and  Europe (2000 to 2004) he returned to Australia. He is currently located in the Byron Shire, NSW.

In recent years he has developed design work for interiors, printing and fashion.

His current body of work is an exploration of Plein air painting, exploring light on the changing land incorporating Botanical motif.

He has also produced a series of still life paintings and drawings, which showcase his expressive design and colour style.

He has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions around Australia, the Middle east, UK, and garnered a string of awards along the way.

Many of Matt's artworks can been found in private collections around the world.
